Back to the old stompin' grounds again. I was able to make a quick pitstop Friday and have dinner with my brother at Tyson's Two. Good seeing you bro. Well, Reginia and Antonio's engagement session brought heavy rain, and the pictures were great. It was status quo yesterday when the skies opened up after their ceremony. I would be lying if I did not tell you I was a bit upset when the skies opened. I really wanted to take advantage of the beautiful grounds of the Raspberry Farm estate. The rain stopped, and a rainbow came out. The rest is history, and I love the pictures we grabbed in between storms. These guys were great, and Antonio is a very lucky guy. Great looking bride, fantastic family, and killer personality. Hopefully, I will be photographing some of your beautiful bridesmaids in the future. Enjoy your honeymoon in December. Here are a few:
Let me start by saying the event that is going to go down in Austin, Texas on October 11 - 13 this year will be like no other. I was invited by some of the best photographers in the industry to play a role in this educational event. I will be in a Director capacity, and I wanted to provide a description of what attendees can expect:
"It will never be duplicated, each time this gathering takes place it will be unique, taking on a new form, evolving and blending to the environment that exist. A collective gathering of artists. It may appear to be chaos or maybe even a three ring circus. However, it will be an event like no other and like home to the creative. A place to relax and let your guard down with an open mind. A place where it is not you (the attendee) and them (the speaker). All one
Everyone working together....host, speakers, mentors, coaches, and attendees all meshed together in total immersion... all one family working out solutions, small groups hovered around laptops on comfy couches, noise, laughter, projectors, music, shooting bays, models, lights popping...chaos? or a beautiful symphony? It's all perception...and your perception is under your control.
There will be 10 Directors and 30 Mentors all on the same level. The names really only mean that the directors were the ones to step in and make it happen from day one. There are going to be 40 educators that want to do nothing but help photographers.
After Dark should be thought of as more of an experience than a seminar, workshop, or conference. By design, everyone will be players lead by a group of caring individuals all working together so that we can all go to a new place..
There are no platform speakers. No sitting still in quiet rooms, straight lines for hours watching and listening. This a gathering of some of the best portrait artists in the country here to work together with you to create solutions to every day creative and business solutions."
I feel honored to be a part of this, and I so look forward to spending some time with my new friends and attendees. The website for additional info is, www.afterdarkaustin.com
The weather yesterday was fairly nasty, but it could not stop this fantastic couple from enjoying themselves with friends and family. Rob and Karen have been such a pleasure from the first day I met the two of them. Here are a few from last night.
