Special Annual Project

12/24/2008

After taking some time to read a xmas gift/book that my good friend Eleise Theuer purchased for me, Annie Leibovitz at Work, I thought of a good idea. I am going to attempt to document life for a year. I am going to post some of my favorite images weekly to the blog. I also came up with Parameters to live by. If you see me with a camera, you will know why. I don't plan on using any wedding images when culling my favorites down. Those get their own posts :)

1) Everything will be shot with natural light

2) I will only use my 50 f1.4 or 28 f1.4

3) Very little photoshop corrections to skin, etc.

4) The majority of the images will be toned to emulate a look I love with grain added in

5) All images shot through the D3 at JPEG fine. I shoot all my wedding work RAW, so this is a departure from the norm

6) Be diligent about posting my faves to the blog even when things get nuts during the summer

7) Create an artbook at the end of the year and give it to my family as a XMAS gift.

You ready for week one's faves. MERRY XMAS EVERYONE.....:

Music Selection - Week Three

12/18/2008

I have been enjoying the five single live session of Amos Lee that I downloaded on Itunes. I also bagged the old Missy Higgins. I really love her music. I also grabbed Dan Tyminski. He is the guitarist for Allison Krauss and a friend of my brother-in-law's pops. I love bluegrass on occasion, and I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in Middleburg, VA this year that featured Jackass Flats out of Richmond. Everyone told me to grab Joshua Radin, but I am lukewarm on his stuff. Maybe it will grow on me. Anyway, it is slow here and albums continue to consume me.

Oh yeah, I have been watching "The Wire" on DVD. I can't get enough of this show. The first season was fantastic. I also got "Deadwood" on DVD. My dad enjoyed it, and I trust his taste. I personally enjoy the Ali G show on HBO. Now that is entertainment. I rented Kat Williams this weekend, and I need to finish it. That guy is funny...
